Meet Maria, the VP of Marketplace Operations, who’s making a big impact at Dispatch! From building a new Customer Success team to enhancing driver experiences, her journey has been exciting and rewarding. Learn more about her day-to-day, recent projects, and what she enjoys most about Dispatch.
1. How has your career grown since starting at Dispatch?
Since starting as a VP of Supply, I've been given additional opportunities to make an impact on the organization, including hiring a completely new team of Customer Success Managers to build and implement our customer retention strategy, and taking on our awesome Customer Support function. It's been an exciting and rewarding ride so far!
2. What does a typical day in your role look like?
I obsessively start my mornings with my to-do list in Ninety, and Issues in upcoming cross-functional meetings. I check Slack, and address questions from my team. Then, I dive into our metrics and start prioritizing my day to ensure I'm spending my time on where I can best support our company goals.
3. What is a project you have been recently involved in?
I had the opportunity to participate in our annual Sales Kickoff, and decided to use this as a way to introduce a few members of my team to the Sales org, as well as host two separate workshops — one focused on our Customer Success & Retention 2025 strategy, and one focused on our Marketplace Operations Leadership team. Oh, and we successfully "escaped" a team event, too!
4. So far, what accomplishments are you most proud of here at Dispatch?
Building really strong relationships with other departments enabled us to better align our Operational processes & metrics to support other teams. We spent a lot of time with Product & Engineering, making improvements to our order dashboards, building an in-app onboarding path, and optimizing our driver experience in general. We got more metrics-driven and process-oriented with help from Finance & People teams. We became a lot more engaged with our Drivers by partnering closely with Marketing on driver acquisition & training strategies. And, we talk with Sales daily to make sure that what their customers need, Dispatch is delivering with excellence.
5. Which Dispatch core value(s) resonates with you the most and why?
Care — building a scalable gig platform with the depth of supply Dispatch has is not easy. Caring deeply about our customers, our drivers, and our people unlocks the motivation for the rest of the values.
6. What is your favorite thing about working at Dispatch?
The people, and the authenticity each one of us brings. I love how diverse of an organization we are, both in terms of backgrounds & opinions. It's a unique, fun culture where every day is a new adventure.
